“Tohu VaBohu” is a biblical phrase (Genesis 1:2) describing the condition of the world before Gd said, “Let there be light.” In modern French, “tohu-bohu” is used as an idiom for “confusion” or “commotion”. Also, in colloquial German, ‘Tohuwabohu” means “great confusion”. This piece represents the beginning stages of creation with letters of the Alef Bet (Hebrew Alphabet) from which brilliant prisms of color exploded as the Master artist created the world.<\/span><\/p>\n
