With bright colors and abstract elements, the one-of-a-kind paintings in The Rivkie Stern Collection reflect the mysteries of creation and life’s beauty, love, harmony, motion and emotion. Beginning with a single thought and vision, each original painting is born with vivid, captivating bursts of color and artistic expression. Rivkie Stern works brilliantly with different textures and hues, mostly implemented in acrylic on canvas. Each painting is an original, created by hand, using distinct, innovative techniques with every stroke.

Many of the paintings in The Rivkie Stern Collection revolve around the first ten letters of the Hebrew Alphabet. Kabbalistic teachings discuss that the world was created and formed from these letters. The hearts in these paintings display our essence of love, with brilliant colors transcending the bounds of imagination. Rivkie incorporates unexpected elements of color and texture to demonstrate the diversity of life and to emphasize the marvelous gift of sight we have, with which we can appreciate the beauty in this world.

Most prominent, in many of Rivkie’s paintings, is the letter Alef, the first letter of the Hebrew Alphabet. Alef signifies the number one, oneness. Its existence preceded all that was, is and will be. It stands alone yet encompasses all. This artist has chosen to center many of her paintings around the letter Alef to demonstrate each of our ultimate goals to achieve oneness; within ourselves and with that around us. We also seek oneness with Gd’s flowing light, Source within ourselves as co-creators. With a consciousness that all is one, we more readily share our gifts and enjoy stronger connectivity in giving to others. When others celebrate, we celebrate with them. When others grieve, we share it collectively. In this world, our every action has a ripple effect in many simultaneous dimensions. Because all is one and each of our choices has impact not just around us, but also within us. With a consciousness of oneness, a person standing on his or her own, experiences a the strength of independence, and being alone no longer solicits loneliness and fear. The journey of life, the human experience, is one of many twists and turns, with emotions of joy and sadness. Some of these paintings carry a feeling of loneliness, yet represent a strong sense of optimism and trust in oneness.

About the Artist

“We each have unique gifts and skills with which to contribute beauty to the world. Tapping into these gifts is fulfilling and exhilarating! My interests and calling in art developed at an early age, first identified by my second grade teacher who commented on my report card that I shouldn’t be doodling in class. Isn’t it amazing how talents and gifts manifest early in life, to be nurtured to blossom to their potential!”

As a budding multi-talented artist and musician, in her earlier years, Rivkie led art and music programs, and painted scenery for school and summer camp performances. She worked with special needs children, and volunteered with art and music therapy for the elderly at nursing homes and day care facilities. In more recent years, Rivkie owned and operated Rivkie.com, which she subsequently expanded to a full service marketing firm, 3 Media Marketing. “I’ve always enjoyed sharing my creative expression. I initially considered becoming an early childhood educator or an art therapist, but in keeping up with technological creativity, I opted to channel my gifts to become a graphic and UX/GUI designer, with an emphasis in marketing strategy.”

Rivkie is currently Senior Director of Marketing at National Retail Solutions, a division of IDT (NYSE: IDT).

Over the years, with her entrepreneurial spirit, Rivkie operated a few businesses including home interior and office decor consulting, food platters, silk floral arrangements, plus decorative mural painting on walls, furniture and canvases. “In 2003, when my daughters were young, I launched my own design series of unique collectible stationery packets for girls; it was sold in stores and online through 2008. As an artist to my core, I’ve continually sought venues for creative self expression. But painting is my soul’s truest calling – and here I am!”

Since creating the first pieces of The Rivkie Stern Collection in 2008, Rivkie’s passion for painting blossomed into this larger collection. Assorted pieces of The Rivkie Stern Collection are on permanent exhibition at the Boca Jewish Center (Boca Raton, FL), and in selected galleries in Manhattan, Englewood and Bradley Beach, NJ.
